Brandon (aka The Dark Lord) is the founder of Philo~soffee. During the course of his life he has changed his opinions and perspectives on multiple issues. He began as a ultra-conservative Christian Republican, and then became an ultra-liberal Atheist Humanist. Then he ditched Humanism, kept the Atheism, and strayed into the dark, forbidden territories of Existentialism and Post Modernism.
Some say he wonders in those forests to this day, lost and angsty, a rational consumer of goods and services by day, and a filthy Leftist by night.
"I have always been fascinated with ideas and beliefs. While in college, that fascination transformed into an interest in philosophy. I remain convinced that the Good Life (whatever it may be) will forever be out of our reach unless we take care in attending to the ideas which govern our lives."
Andrew Eick is Philo~soffee's senior contributor and Brandon's quasi-reliable cohort. A rhetorician by training and a dock worker by trade, he is the sinister mastermind behind the neo-Marxist steamroller leveling the institutions of imperial, white-supremacist, capitalist patriarchy.
A one-time devotee of the demigod Bill O'Reilly, Andrew went astray from the straight road and awoke to find himself alone in a dark wood. Guided on a planar journey by the spirits of Plato, Karl Marx, and Charles Darwin, he became the deconstructer of false gods and the cthonic personality cults who love them.
"As a student of both the structuralist and constructivist schools of sociology, I exist as a series of oppositely charged particles blinking themselves in and out of existence. My quest is a search for an Ultimate Truth, but my means are a deconstruction of absolutist philosophies. I'm also not a coffee drinker."
